Saturn’s Return is nestled in San Juan Island’s West Valley at the head of the Garrison Bay watershed, where forest, wetland, and pasture converge. Far away from the rush of the mainland, it's a space to return to your self.
The Inn: Bedrooms (see below), living room with couches & piano, dining room, and sunroom with built-in cushions. The Galley has a refrigerator, microwave, extra towels, and tea & water always available. Outdoor tables, with a hammock by the stream. High-speed fiber internet.
The Farm: Flowers, vegetables, orchards, and pasture. Layer hens, sheep, and honeybees. We practice regenerative and organic agriculture.
The Farm Store: full of local, organic goods. Natural wines, meats, smoked salmon, sourdough bread, beans, honey, salt, hot sauce, seasonings. Seasonally berries, fruits, vegetables, eggs, and flowers.
Wildlife: Our stream, just ten feet from the Inn, is home to the island’s only native population of trout. You might see bald eagles, great horned owls, red foxes, fawns, banana slugs, little green frogs, and if you are lucky, an orange-belly salamander.
Walking Trails: Trails meander and loop through our back 22 acres of diverse forest and hidden meadows. A beautiful way to start or end the day. In total, 42 acres to explore!
Nearby: It's 12 minutes to town and the ferry. 3 minutes to Young Hill and English Camp National Historical Park. 12 minutes to coastal trails of Lime Kiln Point State Park and Deadman Bay. 8 minutes to the ocean & picnic tables of San Juan Country Park.
The Rooms
Each room is cozy, furnished with fresh flowers, natural limestone plaster, and amenities from high-integrity sources: Coyuchi organic bed linens. Baina organic bath linens. Fir Oak Farm wool comforters from island sheep. Block Shop Textiles organic bathrobes. PlantPaper tree-free toilet paper. Sangre de Fruta organic toiletries from Bowen Island.
Just add the island’s sunshine (we're in the Olympic Rain Shadow!) and clean ocean air, and it’s easy to get your best rest. Please go to our Booking Page to see photos of each room and review our policies.
The Deluxe King: The Deluxe King's floor-to-ceiling windows welcome in expansive views of West Valley, Young Hill, and the wetlands. Best enjoyed from the comfort of your organic Avocado brand king mattress and Coyuchi linens. The room features our largest en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and organic Baina bath linens. Our favorite room for an indulgent getaway — about twice the size of our other rooms.
The Queen: Our Queen bedroom features a comfortable bed with organic Coyuchi linens, a Fir Oak Farm wool comforter, and windows that let in birdsong and views of the farm or Garrison Creek. Its small private bathroom has a shower and organic Baina bath linens. This is our most popular room.
The Economy Queen (Accessible): This bedroom features a comfortable bed with organic Coyuchi linens and a Fir Oak Farm wool comforter. Appointed with organic Baina bath linens, its bathroom and shower are wheelchair friendly. The bathroom does not have a door and is open to the bedroom. The room is also located near our front entry. For these two reasons, it is our lowest priced room.
The Double Fullwith Shared Bathroom: The second-floor Double Full bedroom is perfect for friends or children, with two beds overlooking Garrison Creek, organic Coyuchi linens, and Fir Oak Farm wool comforters. It shares a generous bathroom with the Queen bedroom next door, appointed with organic Baina bath linens and bathrobes from Block Shop Textiles. The stairs up to this room are steep; guests with mobility issues may prefer another room.
The Queen with Shared Bathroom: This second-floor Queen bedroom looks out over farm and forest. Catch golden sunlight through the south-facing window from your cozy bed with organic Coyuchi linens and a Fir Oak Farm wool comforter. It shares a generous bathroom with the Double Full bedroom next door, appointed with organic Baina bath linens and bathrobes from Block Shop Textiles. The stairs up to this room are steep; guests with mobility issues may prefer another room.
The Family Suite: We refer to the two rooms above — the Double SBR & Queen SBR — as "The Family Suite". Book both of them to get a private wing of the inn, with an interior entrance and exterior entrance, and 2 bedrooms, 3 beds, 1 bathroom, and a small private living room.

Our internet and wifi are excellent. Cell service is not, unless you're on T-Mobile. However, most phones support wifi calling now. Map
It can be enjoyable to say hello to our sheep and chickens, who rotate around the pasture. We encourage guests to enjoy our beautiful walking trails that wind through our back 22 acres of forest and meadow. These are natural environments where conditions can change and natural hazards exist. Guests assume responsibility for their own safety while exploring the property.
